Abbey Davies

Abbey obtained her BA in Business at University in the United Kingdom and moved to Maine in 1991. She later obtained her Masters degree in Business from Southern New Hampshire University in 1997 and went on to work at an accounting firm in Portland before transitioning to a career in non-medical in home senior care.

Abbey has led a team providing in-home senior care services in the greater Portland area since 2005 and in the greater Bangor region since 2010.  She prides herself on providing exceptional in-home services for the elder communities and ensuring that her team members do the same.

After merging with Brad in 2022, Abbey found a new passion with the business and is excited for the opportunity to continue to provide excellent customer service and care to both our exceptional employees and clients.

Brad Church

Brad launched KBC Care, LLC in December of 2016 and began leading operations of in-home care in Kennebunk and Augusta in January of 2017. After 20 years in professional hockey as a player, coach, and front office executive, his passion to have a positive impact on people drew him to this opportunity to own a business that can help the elder communities in Maine age successfully in place.

Brad’s “team first” approach and belief in leadership from the bottom up, has created a culture of confidence and empowerment. He believes strongly in those around him and understands that everyone on the team plays an important role in success.

After 5 successful years Brad and Abbey Davies merged their locations under the corporate umbrella D&C Care Company in June 2022. Together, D&C Care Company has cared for over 200 clients, employed close to 125 employees and most importantly widened their reach far and wide across the state of Maine impacting elder communities from Bangor to Eliot.

Operations Manager

Wendi Saracino

Wendi has been with D&C Home Care since 2019. She started as a Service Coordinator in the Portland office and moved on to become the Office Manager. As the company grew, she advanced to the position of Operations Manager, overseeing all five locations. Wendi worked for many years in the medical field, also working in social services helping the homeless and people with mental illness. Both of her parents have Alzheimer’s Disease, so she has personal experience as a family member trying to navigate the world of in-home care and assisted living.

Wendi lives in Portland with her husband of 26 years, their son and their cat, Emmett. In her free time Wendi enjoys crocheting, cooking, and spending time outside along the Maine coast and lakes!

Office Manager

Bob Beatham

Bob has been with D&C Home Care since September 2008. During his tenure, Bob has served as a social companion, service coordinator, and is currently the Office Manager at our Bangor location. Bob’s calm, even demeanor, and his ability to problem solve have served us well in our relationships with clients and caregivers alike. The aspect he enjoys most in his role with D&C Home Care is meeting with clients and their families. Those interpersonal relationships are the cornerstone for everything we do at D&C Home Care.

Bob is a lifelong resident of the Bangor region, having graduated from Bangor High School. Bob holds a BA in History from the University of Maine at Farmington.
Bob is visible and well respected in the Greater Bangor area with his involvement in youth sports. You may find him, or hear him, at Bangor’s Mansfield Stadium, where he has served as the baseball public address announcer and scoreboard operator, since 1995. Bob is a fixture at the Cross Insurance Center during the annual Northern Maine High School Basketball Tournament, also serving as a public address announcer. He’s also the public address voice for Bangor High School and John Bapst Memorial High School football, as well as Maine Principals’ Association state championship football games. Bob’s main sports passion is basketball and serves as the girls and boys scorekeeper at John Bapst.

During his free time, Bob enjoys getting out in nature by hiking in the great outdoors. He enjoys a good road trip to explore new adventures.

Business Development Manager

David Young

David joined D&C Home Care in 2025 as Business Development Manager, bringing a strong background in business and marketing along with experience leading teams across diverse industries. His commitment to elder care is deeply personal-shaped by caring for his grandfather, who lived with Parkinson’s disease.
 
A former teacher, David is passionate about building lasting relationships with clients, referral partners, and community leaders. His focus is on helping families and professionals understand the value of aging safely and comfortably at home while connecting them with the resources and support they need.
 
Outside of work, David enjoys hiking, biking, surfing, and expressing his creativity through music and writing.
Care Coordinator

Lucy Brown

Lucy has been with D&C Home Care since 2025 as the Care Coordinator, assisting clients and families with feedback regarding their care and supporting caregivers in providing the best possible service. She brings a background in holistic and public health, combining her knowledge and compassion to help improve people’s quality of life. Lucy loves learning about others and hearing their unique stories, using that understanding to foster better communication and meaningful connections.

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys running, baking, drawing, and doing puzzles. She values time with her family and finds joy in staying active and creative.

Service Coordinator

Phyllis Stewart

Phyllis joined D & C Home Care in May 2024 as a Service Coordinator. She manages scheduling and supports both clients and caregivers throughout York and Cumberland Counties, helping ensure everyone gets the care and connection they need.

She earned her associate’s degree in Legal Studies and has built a strong background in customer service, administrative support, and office management. Phyllis also holds a Real Estate Broker’s License and is an active member of the York County Council of Realtors and the Maine Association of Realtors.

She lives in Saco and has two grown sons, Tyler and Neil. In her free time she enjoys antiquing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Service Coordinator & Care Manager

Suzanne Merrill

Suzanne has been an integral part of the D&C Home Care team since 2009. She began her journey as a caregiver and now serves as a Service Coordinator and Care Manager, supporting clients and families across Penobscot and Kennebec counties and the Midcoast region.

With a B.A. in Education and an Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology, Suzanne brings both compassion and expertise to her work. A former teacher, she has been part of the healthcare and human services field since 2001, holding roles as a Caregiver, Behavioral Health Professional, Service Coordinator, Care Manager, and Manager. This wide-ranging experience gives her a unique perspective on how to best support clients and families in navigating their home care needs.

A Maine native, Suzanne returned home in 2008 to be closer to her parents, siblings, and their families—including three nieces and two nephews. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling (often on a cruise or two each year), and exploring her growing passion for photography.

Office Manager

Melanie Holt

Melanie worked in investments as a Financial Advisor Assistant for 10 years before moving into the mortgage industry. She then started working part-time on the weekends as an Activities Assistant at a memory care nursing facility and truly enjoyed it. Working with the senior population developed her desire to work in the elder care industry full time, where she came to work as the Office Manager at D&C Home Care. She is excited for the opportunity to help make an impact on people’s’ lives.

Melanie lives in New Hampshire with her two wonderful teenage children. She is a hockey mom for one of them, the other is a rock climber and skier.
